I bought an '08 R6 shock perfect fit according to other GSTWINS posts.

I got the shock mounted to the frame of the bike but now when trying to hook the dog bones w/ the shock find out the spring gets stuck at the center swing arm area. I attached pictures if anyone can help.

Also, I'm sure I have this right but I should be using the GS dog bones right?

I took the OVER SIZED photos since Coda helped me out in re-sizing them

Holy massive photos Batman
Resized for better view

You need to use the dogbone from your bike and not the R6 one
The only thing you need from the R6 is the bolt and sleeve.

Thanks Coda I tried to resize but no luck.

Ok I did use GS dogbone. Any idea on spring getting stuck on swingarm?

according to other forums this should be a perfect fit with no blockage on the spring.

Or if by any chance someone has photos or knows what GSTWINS post link I can use to get to pictures that show the final R6 swap might also help.

Thanks

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

When you mean pivot do you mean the bracket that goes at the bottom of the shock with 3 bolts two for dog bone and one for bike frame? If so it is he R6 pivot.

You appear to be using the R6 pivot, not the GS500 pivot. You also have it installed incorrectly. Please check the GS500 fiche for the correct orientation.

You only need the spacer from the R6 pivot. Remove it from the R6 pivot, and install it in the GS pivot. Everything else is the same as stock.

The pivot is the thing with 3 holes that mounts to the frame, dogbones, and shock. The dogbones are the thin metal links that go between the pivot and the swingarm.

For this conversion, you use only the R6 shock, the nuts/bolts from the shock, and the lower spacer that the shock bolts through. Everything else you keep from your GS.

See Slips video & use the original GS parts,EXCEPT the clevis mount bolt & spacer(use R6)
