GS Motard conversion

First off, I apologize if this has been covered!  I did attempt to find any threads about a Motard type conversion and came up empty...

So, the question is.....  Has anybody turned their GS into a Motard type weapon.  I know I may get a lot of flack from the thought, but it is SO softly sprung and upright that I thought it might turn into a gentle gravel/fire road weapon.  My wife has a '91 and never rides it.  I love to ride it, but I ALSO want a dirt road bomber.  Seems like this would be a great tool for that, obviously barring buying a special built one.

If anybody has any thoughts or previous posts you could point me towards, I would greatly appreciate it.  I am only thinking about some dual sport type tires and some suspension work to start, if it is feasible.

Northwest rider did it with a bike bought from Adidas, and I'm sure there are others. Search around on ADVRider for GS500 dual sports - I'm sure there's more than one.
