All the time or only above 5000 RPM?

If it is the latter, then that is a known issue with this bike. Shift to the next gear and you'll get rid of the vibration.

If it's the former, are you running stock mirrors? There's really only 3 hex screws that need to be tightened.

ParkerMax

all the time.

Yes i have stock and I am thinking about changing them.

3? 1 on bottom of mirror and 2 under that?

cheers

Err ... Bar mounted mirrors or fairing mounted?

ParkerMax

Sorry. I have a 2001 GS500. With bar mounted mirrors.

You can also play with the bar end weights ... Both in type and how tight you do them up ...

Obviously they need to be tightened enough to stay in there ... But how much tighter you do them up AFTER that DOES affect the frequency of vibration in the bars... And from that the mirrors .... You won't get rid of it totally ... But you can make some difference .... And it should lessen vibrations in your hands also...

Possibly another idea .... The vibrations along the mirror arms .... And this is half remembered/paid attention to ... You can affect the 'tuning' of a steel bars vibration by changing frequency of vibration, altering the length of the steel (which then gets it maximum 'wobble' at a different frequency) ..... I'm just wondering if changing the angle of the bottom bend (tightening the angle and thereby lowering the end position of the mirror head) ... Would also change the overall length just a little ... ?? And damping the vibration to a different rev point.... Still not removing it though  :dunno_black:
