I have a '96 GS500E and would like to add frame sliders.  I'm not sure where to find some for sale or where on the frame they attach.  Any help would be appreciated.

These will fit E and F. You can call them and see when they will be in stock. I had them on my bike

There are sliders by RG Racing - liket-rex but I prefer RG becuse they are more forward and offer better protection tothe engine
Renntec - true engine bars
SW Motech - true engine bars, hug the motor a little more than Renntec
OEM Suzuki (not available except ebay or maybe in Europe)
