GS500F Sliders

Hello World of GSTwins!

I am not only new to the world of GS's but to motorcycling in general, so please forgive me if I ask anything that may seem like an obvious answer to most.

After a lot of research I have chosen a 2009 GS500F as my first bike (and if I may say, what a beautiful bike it is!)

Since I am a new rider I would like to take precautions incase I happen to "tip" my bike, does anyone know where I can buy sliders for my 2009 GS500 F?

I am sure you guys and girls will be seeing me around the board here and then. Also, when do the post verifications go away, if ever?

R&G are the best. Even though you have to drill a hole, they look good and protect the front of the bike.
The t-rex are too far back to do any good at protecting the front of the fairing and the turn signals.

I dunno. I had the misfortune of testing out my T-Rex sliders, and they did just fine with a low speed slide. No damage other than the slider puck and a scratch on my bar end. I have flush mount front signals, though, so I can't speak for stock signal protection.

I managed to lose my balance while avoiding a transport that changed lanes without checking.  Wet, Cold, Rear stepped out.

The bolt on my R & G snapped, and the fall punched the signal through the fairing.  Still much better than having to replace all the plastics.

By drill, you mean drill through the fairing, into the frame?

R&G go on the front engine bolt (they give you a threaded rod to replace the engine bolt).
You only drill through the plastic.
