It's supposed to rain for the next couple days and im almost finished with fixing up my gs for inspection. All that's left is changing my rear tire and my chain. My only time to work on it is right now but it's 12:30 in the morning and I have no light. I came here because there are a lot of innovators in the gs forum. Do you guys have any ideas for me so I can make myself a well lit working environment with common household items

Or go sleep ... Set your alarm earlier .. And use time before work ?! .... Working too late and too tired means mistakes/oops can happen bro..  :thumb:

Yea I would just use a little lamp. Is your bike in a garage or in a parking lot? If it is in your garage, why the heck do you not have lights in your garage? Haha

Anyways, you could always go and buy one of these at harbor freight or some other cheap tool shop:

Its called a shop lamp. I use a red one to work on my bike when I dont have enough light, works like a charm, almost too much light. And if its cold this lamp will also keep you and everything else within 6 feet warm haha.
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

How handy are you? I made this:

It's just an old headlight with a 12v led bulb (from a generic "street fighter" fairing) hooked up to a battery. The battery makes it portable and rechargeable, and the steel was scrap parts I had laying around.

It's opener there in the wide open air...

it's in my back yard. I have a porch light but it isn't strong enough or bright enough to give me enough light

Yep that is a good light stand... For battery power.... I'd stand back from it with mains power though!! Lol

That was my first stick welding project. Instead of just burning up rods by making beads on steel, I figured I may as well make something useful. Since then I cut off the bottom plate and welded a Suzuki brake rotor as the base (and ditched the turn signal - amber light sucks to work under). It is an awesome garage lamp though.

I wonder is this the time to start another 'give us a Like button.... Uncle Johnny you tight bastard!! '  ;)

It'd simplify stuff sometimes!
