So I replaced my front pads due to being warn kinda low and needing them for PA inspection  :police:

Over the weekend I took a long ride with a few buddy's totaling 250mis or so and I noticed at slower speeds 30mph or less I can hear the front pads, and when I apply them it get louder. When I have my visor closed I don't hear them at all its just kinda annoying when I'm putting around town. Any one else have this issue with EBC pads? Rotors don't seam to beat up, maybe its just the material?

Also I though that i might have a bad wheel bearing so I tested it with the old pads once again and the noise was gone.

So after a quick google search it turns out that EBC pads are known for this.....Some thing with the holds in the rotor and lines cut into the pads fyi  :dunno_black:

My 97 GS I bought new had that buzzing noise from the front brake when coming to a stop and it had OEM pads.  My first replacement pads were EBC organic and they buzzed too, it's not the pads it's the vented rotor.  Buzzing went away after that and I didn't hear it again for the 80k miles I used that bike.

To make a long story short my 02 acquired with only 4k on it also buzzed and quit some many miles later for most of the 100k miles I used it.  Put a like new rotor on it last year and it came back, seems to me it takes a new or like new rotor to buzz like that.  Your rotor must be in pretty good shape?

I used EBC pads for most of my many GS miles:

407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Eh is wouldn't call them in good shape but they arnt in bad shape either, 12k miles. The PO's dropped the bike once each and let it sit. Title said the the first owner put 6k on it and the second only put 2k on it and got scared off by dropping it and breaking the starter clutch. So I really doubt that they were hard the the brakes lol

I've had that on the GS's and mountain bike. I think it is the edges of the brake pads clipping the holes in the rotor. They should wear in and it will go away. At least it always has for me.
Anytime we put on new calipers or pads or even remove and replace the wheel we get a little of that because things aren't lined to the way they were before. A little use and the pads wear back in and it goes away.

Hopefully they wear in I got 300 miles on them as of today so hopefully they break in soon
