After what happened to adidasguy, I've been a little skiddish about getting back on the bike.  I decided it was worth the financial investment to add some flashing brake lights for additional visibility from behind.   I ended up ordering the flashing brake light only version of the lights from Hyper-lites.  Here's a link: http://www.hyperlites.com/stdsf.html

It was a little over $60 shipped for some bright, quality LED lights and a controller.  I'll post a review here once I get them installed.

From new i put BackOFF XP and Super bright LED tail-lights/brakelights on my bike.I'v been hit TWICE from the rear at traffic lights,by car drivers NOT paying attention, so the more noticeable the better.

That looks like a really nice solution as well for just a little more money.

In addition to these added lights, I have already been wearing my hi-viz vest that I got at the end of the season last year.  Between these 2 things, I think I'm giving myself a much greater chance of being seen.

Style is a bad excuse for not wearing hi-viz gear, but it seems like hi-viz colors are very stylish for people being who are getting active outdoors these days.  In my neck of the woods, I'm always seeing runners, walkers, bicyclists, etc. wearing hi-viz colors.

This is the vest that I have, and I find it very stylish (as far as these type of things go), and air flows right through it for cooling.

I felt inclined to include a link here to my helmet review of the Reevu Rear view helmet.  Its along the same lines regarding safety, and this thread prompted me to do a follow up after using it for the past year.

I was given an icon safety vest. sure it clashes, but safety orange looks ALOT better than dried blood. I saw at a discount store, a safety green shirt. Hmm I want lol. that and the vest, paint helmet similar safety colour. and the goped frame. visually and audibly loud. have a horn designed for it and engineered. to MAYBE only add 2lbs. safety is key. adopted patricks philosophy. F&*k looking good. get there in one piece. youll look good after arrival  ( I added second sentence) peds are sitting idle until I get legs repaired lol. cant stand without some support. I wobble like a drunk man lol. after I get finished with hyperbarics, then ill see if I can get fitten for a prace set for ankles.  then strip down ped and build for addy. or buildopne new from scratch. maybe in thye UW theme. to mimic huhsky. or if I want to confuse people, build in theme of huhsky, trey, suzi junior and his thumper. 5 different paint schemes on one scoot. these bright lights I can wire in to horn system. would help me, cause I have difficulty seeing a goped at speed from either front or rear. motos can be likewise if youre not payhing attention.
I appreciate the lights idea. thank  you. I think yall have saved me from donating skin to a Honda again.

Well the lights already arrived and I wasted no time installing them.  It was a pretty simple install and the instructions were easy to follow.  Basically just stripping some wires and using the provided posi-twist and posi-tap connectors to wire everything together.  I'd never used these type of wire taps, but they were simple to use and effective.  The provided colors on the instructions for Suzuki matched the wiring harness on my 93.  The control module fit on the inside of the taillight housing.  The LEDs mounted on the outside of the fender just under the side plastics with the provided double-sided tape.  Once cut to length, the wiring all fit under the tail fairing and aren't visible unless you search closely.

I got the version that only runs with the brake light (no addition running lights).  There are two modes available: one will flash continuously when the brake is applied, and one will flash for 5 seconds and then stay on.  To switch modes you just have to cut a green wire loop.  I chose to leave it intact for continuous flashing mode.  Total installation time was about an hour taking it slowly.  Worked perfectly on the first try.

The LEDs are certainly bright enough to be noticed even in daylight.

I will have pictures/videos and any observations at a later time.

I am a big fan of Hyper-Lites, here is a post of mine from March 16, 2009....I cut the green wire.

I installed these lights http://www.lights.skenedesign.com/  both the photon blaster and the p3 lights.  I added a button on the right handlebar switch cluster for the front alert feature.  Anytime I got through an intersection of see someone that's waiting to turn, I flash em.   When i'm stopped alone i'll keep releasing and engaging the brake to get the rear lights to flash.  It's not cheap, but it's something that can be transferred to another bike, so it should last a long time.

Being seen from the front is a good thing also, I added 1 Watt Led's as daytime running lights on my GSX650F...you can't miss them from any distance, pure white light.

Here's a few pics for you all.

Can't see the wires, can you Russ?

All the new wires and taps are hidden away under the tail.

i took a video too, but no easy way to hide my license plate.  Plenty of videos on the vendor website.
