Decided to get 92 gs500 going this season after sitting for 2 years. Ran great when I put it away and changed the gas and cleaned out carbs. There was gunk in there. Put it all back and idles well. Then gas it and it dies then won't turn over and floods. Any input would be great thanks

If I had a dollar for every carb problem that was caused by the stupid needle valves on these carbs I would be a rich man!  You might be able to clearn up the needle valve set and get them to reseat.  Test it with the clear U shape tube from the carb drain with the petcock on prime.  The fuel level should be the same as the float bowl gasket.  If it goes above that, then your needle valves are not seating, and it's allowing too much gas to flow, or the o-ring on the needle valve seat is not sealing.  If cleaning is unsuccessful, and the o-rings look good, then it's time for new needle valves.

Unfortunately, they are $40+ a piece OEM (they include the o-ring on the seat so don't order that separately as well).  The OEM needle valve sets are much more reliable the ones provided in the cheap K&L rebuild kits that can be had for $30.
