Ok so i've been working on a 2006 gs500f for a friend.  I replaced his engine with a 97 gs500 engine.  I'm about ready to try to start the bad boy and see how it goes.  my problem is, i don't know where the damn lines go from the petcock to the gas tank!  I've seen many pictures but they all seem to be from older models, even the damn service manual i downloaded doesn't have the petcock from the 2006 model!  anyways, there's 3 hoses and i need to know where they go. thanks!

i have same bike 97 engine yo. that vacuum line goes to a small nipple on the clutch side carb on the right side.  its down by the sliding brass piece used for the choke its about  .3 inches long. i found it buy blowing in the top t vent hose that goes over the airbox but my carbs had fuel in it. its right below the screw on the left carb to remove the cap for the slide. its hard to explain and you cant see it in a picture.

here we go got a picture for you!!  :woohoo:

man excellent pic!  ANOTHER QUESTION!  on the carb the damn thing is capped off?!  what the heck?  do i just uncap it and plug the thing in?  thanks!!!

rexpepper651

thats not the correct hole then if it has a cap if i remember correctly. like i said i blew in the vent tub on the top t and fuel actually came out that hole. unless my carbs are on backwards or oppesite sides i mean.  or you maybe getting confused by the black cap for the vacuum port used for syncing carbs.  its not this cap. actually a little silver tube the same color as the carbs poking out the side. ill get a picture of it when i get home showing exactly what i mean. i have 5 hrs left of work tho sorry.

here it is. little metal tube sticking out on the carb.

I thought the newer gen. had the vacuum nipple on the right carb?  I don't know for sure, cause I have a '97.
