Original bikini fairing (dumb) question

I have the original bikini fairing for my GS500E... and have noticed an annoying noise coming from it when running at slow speeds... from engine vibration. I makes me wince when I hear it. I'm thinking I don't have the original hardware for mounting it... because when I put it on it didn't line up and I had to get creative with the headlight mount. Does anyone have a photo of how yours is mounted, or know where I can find some original mounting brackets?
