Feul leaks since Crf250x petcock install

I have had  a series of fuel leak since i upgraded my stock defective petcock as per the guidance and instructions provided on this forum.
Overall despite the inconvenience of the bike leaking fuel in the parking garage, this has been the best mod this year. Restored power and improved drive-ability, have allowed me, for brief spurts to really enjoy the bike.

I have had one leak from the hose being to tight up to the stock air box and started leaking after 180-300kms. It started as a small leak which grew to a puddle the morning I was going to depart on a 500km trip. Bought some "hose" at the cycle shop, asked for fuel and gave the guy the splint hose. In my haste didn't really check the markings, this after discovering that the clearance with auto style hose was an issue and wasting time driving around

I fixed the main supply fuel line with this "line" from the bike shop and left on my trip. Upon my return the lines were fine no leak, and the next day after my return, the landlord called to tell me to move the bike it is leaking fuel. Did I purchase and install vacuum hose?

I moved the bike and let the fuel drain on to the road in a sign of discouragement...I finally tacked the replacement of a fuel line for the 2
nd time in as many weeks.

This afternoon after arriving home from work I see the main line is "wet" from the tank to the crf petcock. I am frustrated.

Has anyone else who have done this ever had any trouble with fuel lines?

I should have secured some within o.e spec before putting on the crf unit.

any chance my stock airbox is not sitting flush and i created my own problem?

I have opened/cracked the tank petcock several times, in this thread http:///gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=63916.0 there is mention of a tank petcock o-ring, could mine be leaking? down only one line?

I know I can just remove the tank and see whats up, but I'd rather know if any of these  poorly  ;) described symptoms have been an issue for anyone.

Cheers

It sounds like you are not using hose clamps?!

Are you sure the fuel was coming from the lines and not the airbox drain? - If it is indeed coming from the airbox drain, your carbs are overflowing from an either float heights being off or the needle valves are not seating properly
If the above case is happening - are you turning off the petcock when the bike is off?

You can't mount the CRF250X petcock flush to the frame because of the clearance with the airbox issue.  You have to make some sort of spacer.  I made mine out of wood. See this post...http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=59113.msg683867#msg683867

Also, even with the original wood spacer I've had the same rubbing on the airbox issue.  I had to add a little thickness to my spacer (washers between the wood and the petcock), and that cured the issue.  I used new OEM fuel lines when I originally restored the bike, and had enough length to cut off the part with the hole from rubbing the airbox and reuse the line.  I think I switched the RES and the ON fuel line from OEM because the bends and the length work out better that way with the new arrangement of the petcock nipples.
