Hi guys!

A few months ago I cleaned out my carbs, replaced the battery and havent really rode it much the last month because of my job.

Last weekend I went to start it up. I put the choke up for about 30 seconds like I normally do. But the engine started to die and gave it full choke and attempted to give it some gas and noticed the RPMs went down everytime I gave it gas. So I let it sit there for a minute or so and it seemed fine afterwards.

My question is why all of a sudden when I let it warm up and try to give it gas, do the RMPs go down and almost die?

Thanks

nico

I do not have an answer for your question, but in my (limited) experience, when you get something carbureted sit for a while, there are little weird things that happen which after a few miles of driving/ridding work themselves out. These are the things that scare the 'normal' individuals and make them sell things cheaply to people like 'us' that like and can do basic repairs.

If my GS sits for 2 weeks, it starts right up (or did before my rectifier took a poop) but it when it does start up it is a little rough and until warm it coughs and spits a little...once warmed up it is like a little kitty. Same goes for my '74 BMW and by '92 Vespa!

I say ride it around not too far from civilization or home for a bit. If nothing happens, you're golden!
