I'm new to the forum, so first off: Howdy!

I recently bought my first bike (2000 GS500E)  :woohoo:. It's in pretty decent condition and runs well. I've got a couple hundred miles on her so far and I've developed a minor oil leak.

Where is the best place to get parts? I found the gasket I need on partzilla, does anyone have experience ordering from them?

If your curious, the gasket I need is part 15 in the diagram here:

Thanks

If the discount is less then the shipping go to the dealership and order it. Keep a list of the small stuff you need and when you order something worth the shipping( ie. New brake/rotor) add it to them to the order. I mainly use bikebandit.com

Check out BikeBandit.com, especially if you're in the states.  They have parts fiches, and offer free shipping on big enough orders.  I've ordered from them about 5 times, and haven't had a single problem yet.

Up here in Canada, I have to pay $30 for shipping no matter the size of my order, but between the lower-than-local prices and the lazy/easy factor of online ordering, it's still totally worth it for me.

I like ronayers.com, they're not too far from me and sometimes I can twist my local dealers arm to matching price.

Thanks for the replies. I have a dealer nearby but they are not open today, so I will check if they have the parts tomorrow.

In the mean time I'll check out the websites y'all mentioned.

Well, it seems you already have a good couple sites to choose from.

Just wanted to add that Amazon carries moto parts for the GS500 too. I found a gasket for the Gs500 on there. http://ASIN.cc/17WYjbW

I bought a regulator, oil filters, headlight, horn, starter relay, nets, and moto cover from them Amazon. Doesn't have the diagrams and all the parts, but it's nice because it's free shipping usually and I can buy cereal along with my parts.
