Hi all,
I recently bought a replacement gauge cluster housing (black plastic cover that the tach and speedometer fit into on an E model), but I don't have the screws for it.
Can anyone tell me the size of those screws, so I can buy some?
I believe the screw(s) in question are #10 on this fiche, but I'd like confirmation on that as well.
I'd prefer to replace them with stainless, but anything is better than the no screws I have now.  O0

Really, no one has any idea?
Would anyone be willing to pull a crew and measure it for me?
Please?!

Thanks sledge, but that's not the screw I'm talking about.
I'm referring to the 3 screws that hold the plastic gauge cluster housing (the "bucket") to the gauge face.
They're not really clear in the fiche. That's why I was guessing that they were the # I referenced, but that may easily be wrong.

I figured out the screw size, I think.
As far as I can tell, it's an M4.0x0.7x7.
For you non-metric-heads (like me!), that's 4.0mm nominal diameter, 0.7mm thread pitch, 7mm length, excluding the head.
The OEM screw is a pan head with a lock washer and thin flat washer under it.

My handy Harbor Freight screw assortment has the right size, just too long.
I'll cut off a few, and find the flat and lock washers from the same set. I should be good to go.
Now I just need to figure out how to replace that busted mounting stud on the back of the tach....
Maybe it's time to fire up the lathe?
