i just cleaned my carbs on my 2006. i ended up losing the nipple that covers the vacuum signal (at least i think thats what it does) now i am getting a weird idle like it starving for fuel. can this be from not having it?

Yes, it can very easily be that. I had the same issue because I ran a vacuum line through the second port for easy carb balancing and forgot to plug it. It would turn off easily if I just opened up the throttle.
