Hi, Im pretty newbie with motorbikes. I kind of understand how motor works(thanks for gifs). Anyways the problem is that I did check valve clearance, everything but left exhaust valve was okay. Got 0.04mm and 0.05 from others.. and couldnt even get 0.02 through from left exhaust valve. Should I just buy thinner shim? Or is this somehow bigger problem. My shim now is "265". Anyways, can this be the problem for hard starting and problems for cold start?

The valve where the gap is less than .02...needs the shim changed out.

If the present shim says 265...then you should go with a 260....

Assuming that there was a least a gap of .01    This will give you the new gap of .06

After you install the 260 be sure to check the gap again....makes sure it is not still to tight...if it is still too tight, you have to go smaller yet shim...

the intakes measuring .04 or .05 are fine...

If an exhaust measures .04...it's starting to get near the limit...and has to be watched...

Going down one size on the shim would give a gap of .09...which is OK too and you don't have to worry so much...

As for hard starting in cold.....I've had my valves loose or tight and didn't really notice any difference in starting...

IF...that one valve has no gap...as in it is remaining open...well that could be a problem....
