So ive had a gopro for probably three years now, and ive used it to take quite a few videos, all of which i end up doing nothing with and deleting once my computer runs out of space

ive tried using gopro studio, and its alright i guess, and i had a trial version of something called 'lightworks' for a while, but i never really used it of course

just wondering if anyone here edits any video at all and what you use! im probably looking for something with a small learning curve and something thats free (or close to it). itd be great to make some super cool gs video that makes me look really awesome  O0

of course if i end up making anything ill share it here, and if anyone has any cool videos theyve made (of anything really) post them below because im always looking for more ways to waste time!!

If you have windows you can use movie maker. It's part of windows. You can splice vid clips together really easy.
Why are you looking here?

Sony Vegas Pro is another good one. It's what I use. It's expensive, unless you know of other ways to get it.

Movie maker is probably one of the easiest to get to grips with.. I know that Microsoft stopped bundling it for a while but they seem to have included it again with Windows 7 - otherwise you can find a copy here

I use the Pinnacle DV suite (have had it for about 10 years) - came bundled with a DV capture card and I seem to keep on getting every new version as it comes out. Some very swish editing features and useful tools - mainly for me it was reclaiming analog and digital video tapes into the modern age..

thanks for the replies! i may try to acquire sony vegas pro....

i got movie maker a while back and i just cant stand it personally. it might be decent for all i know but i dont like the interface and find it had troubles sometimes.

once i have some good footage ill probably watch a fee youtube videos on proper video editing too, because using whatever software i get is probably more important than the software itself haha

One thing I like about Vegas pro that either movie maker doesn't have or I haven't figured out is that you can cut audio because the audio and video are separate. In movie maker the audio is connected to the video.

I have done some heavy splicing with windows movie maker and for the price of free it works well enough.  Of course it can be fussy about file formats you drop into it.  If that is the case look into a free software called handbrake to change the format.
