Electrical system issue

Hey everyone,

I'm sure issues related to the electrical system are frequent here.

However, Right now I have been experiencing inconsistency with my battery. At times it will stay charged for weeks, and other times days. I automatically assume it is related to the stator or regulator. I tested the system with a Ohm meter, and I think the results were a bit odd.

Battery:
My battery after a charge is 11.5 volts at rest. While running it only shows about 12 volts. I feel like it should be a bit higher than that. When rev'ing the motor, it shows about 12.5 volts.

Regulator:
I did the test for the regulator. Touching Ohm meter on the diode setting to the power/ground connection with the stator wires (followed the directions I found on several forums/youtube videos). I got all the signals it is still functioning. I also understand that doesn't rule it out, but gives me a less potential of that being the problem.

Stator:
I Tested the ohm readings on the stator connector both running and not not running. At rest the stator wires produce consistent numbers, but running the numbers are all over the place. To me it was a bit odd, but not sure what that means to be honest.

So now where do I go from here, or is there an obvious sign/test that I am missing?

Thanks again!

The battery is always the first place to start with any charging problem, get it load tested at a shop and go from there. Its the ONLY way to prove a battery is serviceable.

I purchased this bike about 2 months ago. After purchasing the bike, I replaced the battery. Could two months cause a battery to go bad?

11.5 v is away too low after a full charge. Seems there is a dead cell.

You think Pyrrhic victory is bad you should try Pyrrhic defeat!

What battery did you replace with?

Until its tested how will you know for sure?

I bought the OEM replacement from a local suzuki shop. I believe it was a Yuasa 12V battery.
