First of all i want to say that this isn't my native language so excuse me for all the mistakes i'll do

Finally after almost one year and a half and 10.000km (6200 Miles) together i decided to introduce my bike.

The bike is a 2002 GS500, I'm the 4th owner and i bought it with 4637km (2900 miles!) the 4th february 2014, it had oem 12 years old tires and some maintenance to do after all those years almost unused. No scratches, almost no rust (only some dots here and there). It looked like new!

This is the day i brought her to home. First bike, it was big and heavy!

Two days later i had insurance and started riding, after 2 years waiting for her it did not seem real!
Two weeks later i changed the old tires with some new Pirello sport demon in oem sizes, 110/70-17 130/70-17

First real ride, 80km (50 miles)

Upgrades arrived slow because i still was at school.
In July 2014 i bought some new clutch/brake levers, they are "Rideit", chinese but very very well produced. Cheap and shipped in 2 days!
They are for TL1000S, the brake lever is identical and fits with no problems, the clutch is different. I had to buy the bracket of a TL1000S and put bar end mirrors since it doesn't have the thread for standard mirrors.

Here they are

In February 2015 i bought some Hyperpro springs +15W oil but the seller sent me the ones of the 2004 model (paioli instead of kyb i think)
The springs were just an inch shorter and the mechanic made some spacers.
They're way better than the stock but i'm not fully satisfied, i think i'll search some proper springs.
Then i bought Vortex clip ons and mounted them over the top yoke, lowering the bike 27mm (one inch). I think it's a bit too much and i'm looking for a way to make a step back.

Then i removed the windshield (or windscreen? i always get confuse between american english and english...)

Then some bad news. I was out for a ride, the antitheft chain i kept under the seat fell, it's gone between the wheel spokes and locked it. It scratched the rim, the torque bar and the swingarm.
If it wasn't enough, the chain fell of both front and rear sprocket, i lost half an hour trying to get the chain on the front sprocket with the extremely hot engine...
Once it was on it had twice the play it should have and some blocked links. Going home it fell of 4 times.

Once at home i registered and greased the chain and ordered some parts for the incoming maintenance.

After a couple of weeks i had all the parts:
Front Newfren organic brake pads
110 links chain (X ring)
15T Front sprocket
42T Rear sprocket (yup, -1 front +2 rear!)
Stainless steel brake hoses
Oil and filter for the 12000 km service (8000 miles i guess)

The tires, after 8000km/6000 miles, had to be changed.
Pirelli sport demon again and this time i pushed them from new... I love them!
With new tires i discovered the pleasure of riding. I made 1100km in 11 days (it's not bad given that the farthest place i've been was at 100km...) and then... CRASH!
I was with some friends on a new road for me. The guy in front of me took a pothole in a slow turn and gone wide, i thought the curve was ending and i'm gone on the other lane. There was a bike coming slow, it was far enough to not be too dangerous but i preferred to go wide than cutting trying to go back in my lane. I was almost stationary when the front locked on some gravel and i fell of.
The result was a fracture on the 5th finger of the right hand, some scratches on tail and engine, and the clip on hit the tank...

Now i have some bolts in my finger and can't ride since the 28 of the last month... it's sad!

But i can't stand doing nothing. I bought a lunchbox K&N filter, 6SigmaRacing jet kit and i'm thinking of fitting a slip on exhaust lately...

Waiting for parts and the capability of fitting everything and riding again! :D
