Turn Signal, Brake Signal Help.

I recently purchased an '89 GS500E as my first bike (second hand, very used) and am experiencing some issues.

The bike came with an led tail light that had built in turn signals, they were always running which i figured was due to a missing voltage regulator. The break light worked originally but only the rear.

Now I've installed regular turn signals front and rear. The left side blinks quickly and the right side doesn't blink but is always on. The indicator blinks in sync with the left signal. The break no longer works.

Does anyone have any idea on where I should start to work on this problem? Also forks are leaking how concerned should i be?
