Hi:

Taking a look to carburetors, i found this filter:

...

What it is for? How should I clean it? Original costs 25$...

thanks!

Without my manual on me I can't give you an exact description, but IIRC it is a part of the emissions-control system on newer GS500s.  Where does its hose lead to on the carbs?

I'm sure someone else will pipe in with more details.

Here is a pic that maybe helps you:

The filter is the item #71 and the hose goes to the upper part of the carburetors. But i don't know exactly the purpose... gsJack said it is a 2nd air fliter.

Yeah that's a breather hose for the car so the filter prevents junk and also helps avoid drafts getting in and blocking gas intake which can cause bike to die at high speeds if hose not routed correctly.
