MY bike does not want to start up unless I put the petcock switch on PRI. Once the bike is warm I can switch it back to ON but otherwise the engine sounds like its not receiving fuel. Definitely a vacuum problem from the petcock or even fuel tank to the carb. Where should I begin looking? Im new to the whole petcock troubleshoot so I would be wasting a lot of time just searching for an issue. Any help?

I had issues with a lack of vacuum when I got mine up and running.  There might just be crap in the petcock on the frame.  Theres not that much to them.  Carefully take the back off of it and spray some carb cleaner through it.  Make sure you carefully take out the diaphragm and inspect it for cracks etc.  If you find any good luck getting a diaphragm (not saying its impossible just hard to find the exact one needed).  Be sure that when you're cleaning the petcock to spray through all the galleries at each tap setting.  Worked a treat for mine but can't speak for everyone else.

Cheers

I'm having a similar problem with my 96e. There's a YouTube video on carb cleaning that suggested if after a thorough cleaning you're still having a lack of  power, there's a little trick you can do with gasket maker. You have to put it on the intake side on the engine side. I'm planning on trying it out this week. I will report back once I've tested it out.
