Howdy y'all. Does anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit or even just a petcock diaphragm for a 07 gs500f? I have a good feeling the rubbers are dried and cracked inside the petcock but don't want to purchase a whole new petcock assembly.

I tried myself without much success. They were a standard item on most 1980s japanese bikes and pretty similar internally. Theres a USA company that normally does Harley stuff that makes kits to suit.  If you're handy maybe take it apart and then measure the diaphragm in question.  They may know if they have one that will fit.  Alternatively theres a mod on here to delete that one altogether using some T pieces and two on/off valves

I also assumed that these petcock designs are standardized and some kit for another bike would fit. I bought the K&L 18-2763 and the vacuum diaphragm, spring, o-ring and rubber gasket fit perfectly in my 2001. I'm pretty sure the pre-2001 models are different, same with the 2004+, but looking at the pictures from this post, http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=37366.0 I think it'll work too. One difference I notice is that it appears that the smaller diagonal alignment holes on the diaphragm rubber are on the opposite corners. I don't know if in that picture it was installed backwards (somehow??).

I purchased this item on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231635727061?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I noticed some fuel dripping from the vacuum diaphragm part of my frame petcock. I used some needle nose vise grips with tubing on the end to plug up the two fuel line (main and reserve), then unscrewed the petcock from the frame, and the 5 screws on the diaphragm cover. I pulled the diaphragm out of the middle plastic piece and pulled the new diaphragm in and reinstalled. I made sure to clean the plastic and all mating surfaces well. Then I removed the knob and replaced the o-ring and gasket, pretty straight forward. I bolted it all up and it was good to go.  No leaks.

I'll add this into the Wiki. If someone can confirm that it works on the 2004+ models, I'll add that in too.

I also need to give credit to tboyer for getting me started on the initial search: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=58188.0
