It happened, I parked my precious girl at a friends apartment complex and some jack*** hit it with their car... couldn't believe my eyes when I came out and there she was on the ground.

Haven't even been riding two full weeks and already... ugh sad day. Nothing to do but press on.

Anyways, obviously a stock GS500F replacement is an option along with GSXR or Katana mirrors. However I'm considering bar mounted mirrors. Also curious as to whether anybody has put inverted (upside down) mirrors on their bike? I was wanting to remove the fairing eventually anyways so moving to bar mounted mirrors may be what I end up doing. Looking for a cheap yet effective replacement.

Life is better on two wheels...
But it's still pretty damn good in a Chevy

I always thought bar ends looked really dumb on a faired bike. I would stick with the stock mirrors, they are some of the most functional mirrors I've ever ridden with on a motorcycle. They get even better with mirror plate or arm extensions.

Btw, EMGO sells mirrors that look stock for a lot less than new Suzuki mirrors, but they are in fact slightly different so you would have to get them for both sides. I think used Suzuki in good condition is the way to go.

Had bar end mirrors on the bike but took them off for two reasons:

They make the bike wider so it is harder to move around.  I have a garage so it makes parking difficult

2nd they make it hard to get your hand on the grip when you have winter gloves on.

I've been looking at mirrors for my naked GS and I really want convex mirrors, I think they'd be a lot more usable.

I think there are certain other oem models that have convex mirrors, but they're harder to find. I'm actually tempted to get this pair and adapt them for the stock bolt attachment points. http://www.ebay.com/itm/380684435063

Or something like this, which seems kind of low, and expensive: http://www.ebay.com/itm/391096342888

which side has the broken mirror. I have an extra right side with minor blemish.
Be sure to check ebay, amazon and craigslist.
Search out a local bike breaker or parts shop.
You should be able to get one or both replaced for not much $

There's a guy that goes by Marty on here who I believe is still selling both of his mirrors.
