Hi folks,
I'm about to go through a bunch of checks on the GS to locate a problem but thought it worth it to see if my issue screams something obvious to you. I've no experience beyond change oil and respray the frame.

The battery charge checks out at 12.5 and I think it was 13.4 at 5000rpm.

So the bike will start first time real quick. I'll ride for 1 or 2 minutes, and it will rapidly lose revs before cutting out.

If I flick it to neutral I can with effort start again for another maybe 30 seconds.

Same again but then 10 seconds of riding.

Then it is as dead as a dornail.

I'm about to check wiring for rust. Thought maybe the alternator. I have a multimeter, tools, and a Haynes manual.

Thanks guys!!

Simple things first, try running it stationary with gas cap open. If the vent is clogged, you may get this problem, however I don't know about the timeframe.

Ride it like a 2 stroke:
1: Rev high
2: Add oil
3: Repeat
