Hey guys my 02' GS500 didn't come with a tach cable and upon further inspection, it looks like the hole has been sealed.  When reffering to the Haynes manual I think i'm looking at the correct spot.  It looks as if the hole in the right head has been blocked....am I looking completely in the wrong spot?

I also need to order some new grips.  Will grips from a F-model work?

Lastly, I need a new horn.  Can someone provide a link to an aftermarket horn that is a direct bolt on?  Will this one work?

thanks everyone!

Sealed?...nah...... it was never there to start with.

All the `Fs` look like that, the holes didn't get machined when the heads were manufactured.........no need for them  :thumb:

Where does the end of the tach cable go then?  Safe to assume I have newer F model engine given the oil cooler too?

F tachs are electronically fed. not mech. the oil cooler is a plus imho. i used to ride Various Es in funeral escorts. what i would have given for an oil cooler.  they did NOT like a 15mph  staggered moto train. specially one a couple miles in length. lol. imho oil coolers are nice to have.

That makes sense about the tach....so next question:  would it be a direct bolt on to switch to an F-model tach or will that require some additional modification and wiring knowledge (that I don't have)?

Agreed on the oil cooler - It was definitely a plus!

Anyone need a tach cable I just ordered from ebay 2 days ago?   :technical:

Any motorcycle grips for a 7/8" bar will work.
You can get some for $5-$10 shipped off ebay.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Just cos they fit, don't mean they are right. There is a Suzuki specific aftermarket - and even that doesn't fit like original.
The only better grip IMHO is a katana 6/7/11 grip. It fits right and looks right. Just my .02.
Cool.
