? on floats

I'm not sure how to word this but, what is the profile of the metal tab on the floats supposed to look like. I am trying to adjust my float height but just can't get it to the level of the bowl gasket.

There is no set profile. On an 89-00, You just bend the bugger.
On an 04+ - I find it very very very hard to bend, but usually they also dont need asjusting just because of that.

OK thanks. Mine seem to have a designed bend in them that I'll flatten out. It seems to be preventing me for being able tho bend the tab high enough without interfering with the edge of the float jet.
