This guy set his bracket up perfectly, I have to find out how to bend mine the way he did.

But my headlight has these tabs

I only have one shot at not messing this up. Does it look like he cut his tabs off? I can't tell if the stock headlight is different from mine or not.

And this is where i'm at. It looks a little messy but it will get better. (Pics originally requested by Janx101)

I used cable ties to hold it on while I figured it out.

I looked at the thread, and I am astounded so many people like it. To me it just looks wrong. I love the oversize round headlight on the gs, that one in the thread just looks freakish.

I know that's what alot of folks do but to me the the round headlight gives off that old time look to me.

Edit: I see what he did. I just wanted to make sure I didn't drill into the housing. Really cant mess this up or I'm out a headlight. Anyone think that drilling holes in the headlight housing will be a bad idea?

I thought that was the point?

Yeah, i'm not a fan of that look.

Drilling the F housing?, it's a 'plastic' so you should be able to...  but measure several times and drill/cut once! ..  and don't drop the drill bit in there forcefully in case you impact the rearside of the reflector.

It's still going to look a little odd because the rear of the light is just raw molding/edges meant to be hidden away by the fairing..  (one advantage of the round headlight bucket!)

Depends on your taste but when you happy with position and mounts. .. you could mess around with some cardboard sections to make templates. . Then fabricate up a close fitting housing using perspex, heat it up in home oven till it's flexi and mold to the right shape..  fiddly job though.. great fun for the shadetree engineer!

I bought a Dremel and ground down the tabs (except for two, one on each side) I then bent the brackets (not close to perfect because the holes that are in the bracket where the turn signals are, are bent, so the turn signals are only visible to those on the side of where I'm turning. Which is OK I guess. I can always buy another headlight and and brackets.

I've got where they're gonna be mounted on the tabs but I need to find a 5/16ths drill bit to get it mounted. Almost done!
