So I haven't started my 500E in a few months, put charger on it before even trying and then a few hours later went out to try it. The starter or replay seems to make a kinds loud click and then I get maybe one or two rotations. So I thought that its hydro-locked from fuel leaking into the cylinders while it was sitting. Pulled the plugs and they did not look wet. I cranked it with the plugs out and it turned over OK, put the plugs back in and same thing. I checked the oil and the level seems fine and it did not seem contaminated with gas. Checked the charge on the battery and it said 11.8 volts. I took a whiff of the top of the air filter while I had the seat off it did not wreak of gas to bad. Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks!

If your battery is at 11.8 after being on a charger I have a strong suspicion that your battery died during the down-time.  Being near the start of riding season in many places there are lots of similar threads popping up on this forum these days.

Try taking your battery to an auto parts store.  They will typically test batteries for free.

Lead acid batteries fail quickly when they are allowed to discharge.  It is the voltage stored in the battery that prevents the lead from rusting in the acidic solution which would, under other circumstances, corrode the lead immediately.

Good call Lucas
Its funny because the headlight looked so bright I though for sure something mechanical was wrong, threw some jumper cables from the Camaro to the GS and it fired right up.
Thanks brother..
