I just figures one of two things. That size wont measure up, or the resistances or stengrh of the magnent. Or the amperage of the signal generated wont be enough for the icu to fire.

It's voltage, which is dependent on the magnet, turns of wire, wire gauge (total inductance), and the gap between the rotor and the pickup pole piece.

QuoteComes down electrical or spatial. It could be machined or modifies or fit. I assume other suzuki bikes like older gsxrs that dont have computers probably have a pulse generator working at similar tolerances as far as the pulse goes.

Actually I think it's fair enough to assume that virtually all 80s-90s motorcycles with similar ignition have roughly compatible parts in terms of signal. But to make one work on a GS500 may be non-trivial to difficult to say the least.

Good news is Bike runs. Bad news is, My rubber mount cant be on right because the gas tank vibrates alot now. And once warm, the bike has a strong tendency to want to sit at 3k rpms 30 seconds to a minute before dropping down to idle at 1250. If i rev past 3k it will hang at 3k when dropping down. Oh well, im 90% positive its the carb, maybe the float getting stuck. And since noticing it a couple days ago when i got the bike running. It doesn't seem as bad the more consecutive rides i take. Like the repeated warming of the engine is breaking down whatever s causing whatever part to stick. And its probably old gas that broke down and gunked it up.

Unrelated, but yeah that one on ebay tested at i think 300 ohms out the bag. So i figured it would work, and it did beautifully.
