I have a GS500F that I want to do a conversion on but I would like the OEM mounting bracket for a GS500E as well as the headlight (either OEM or aftermarket bucket and headlight).

Hi bulletrhli,

Do you just need the brackets or are you also looking for a headlight?
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

Well, I have the headlight from my bike but to my understanding it has a different mounting method since it mounts into the bar that extends off the center post then to the fairing.

So I would like the entire assembly, the headlight, signals, and mounting brackets. Maybe not the signals since I have 2...

Okay, gotcha :thumb:

Yes you are correct, to mount the F style headlight to the forks, you'd need some aftermarket brackets which can be bent/modifyed a bit to make work. There are at least 3 threads on the forum here, showing how it can be done. Some people have had clearance issues with this mounting method however, because when the forks compress while riding, sometimes the bottom of the F style headlight hits the front fender.

I have for sale right now (on ebay as well as a post on here) the OEM round E style headlight off my '98 and a set of OEM signals.

I don't have the black mounts (which go around the forks and have the spot for the signals to mount to) or the silver triangle brackets (which mount to the black mounts and attach to the headlight). Those parts, however, can be found for an affordable price on eBay, if you end up needing to go that route.

I'm not sure if you'd be interested in my headlight but if so, I wouldn't mind getting a shipping quote and bringing the price down for a GSTwin forum member. Also, I would sell just the headlight (bucket, glass, ring, boot) without the LED bulb if you wanted to go that way as well

Here's the link to the headlight:

I did notice that, and when I went back to adjust the mounts, I ended up damaging them so I don't have working aftermarket brackets now. Bit of a pain :( Plus the speed sensor running from the front wheel got pinched by the bracket and where my light was which made me nervous since it pulled the entire speed and rpm gauges down where they mount.

I would MUCH rather have the old style headlight on my bike, even though I think the GSXR style on the GS500F looks stunning and sporty, since I was a naked cafe style bike, id rather have that.

Can you quote me a price? Send me a PM with any details you need.

You really want the original style with the original brackets if you ask me.
The hard mount ears tend to eat headlight bulbs. Not to mention look stupid.

The F style headlight without the rest of the F fairing tends to look like a giant Va Jay jay mounted onto the front. Round headlight fitted in the original spot is the way to go. IMHO.

Cool.

Problem with the original GS500F mount is that it only mounts the light, not the signals. If I had the original GS500(E) mounting brackets for my forks I could have the circle light AND my signals at tached.
