I bought a new regulator/rectifier for my 2009 GS500F off of amazon. Didn't have the wits to test it beforehand.  Ended up replacing the whole charging system and realized it still didn't charge. Lmao dear god. Officially just started testing everything and it's a faulty rectifier. Where can I buy an OEM Rectifier? I looked at the Suzuki website and all they sell are basic brake pads and stuff.

For OEM I like motosport.com ... there are other sites like bikebandit.com and partzilla.com and ronayers.com too... I'm super thrifty and have always found the best price at motosport.

Indeed they do!

I've shopped lots of different sites. Ron Ayers has good prices and service.  The prices across different sites are often a wash when shipping is factored in.

Word to the wise: Cross check part numbers across different sites just to make sure you're ordering the correct one. For example, I ordered new float bowl gaskets from Partzilla. It turns out their fiche for the 2002 model is wrong. After pointing it out to them and giving the correct part number they admitted their fiche is wrong and sent me the gaskets at no charge. Looking at it now a few weeks later their fiche is STILL wrong.  :2guns:  BTW, motosport's fiche for the 2002 carb is wrong, too.

I know, right??

I've seen peeps on the GS500 facebook group go crazy over those side cover things... asking where to buy them etc. They kinda update the bike's look a bit.

+1 for cross-checking part numbers. Good suggestion alpo :thumb: I hate when diagrams and fiches are wrong :technical:

Wow, there is something so surreal about seeing a 2019 GS500. Perhaps it's just how clean it is!

Bluesmudge

Wow. So clean! That actually makes me want to buy a new GS500. Too bad we can't up here. Maybe someday Suzuki will re-make it to compete with the CB500s and Ninja 400.
Suzuki has done a pretty good job giving the GS500 subtle updates to make it look current. Looks like there was accent threading on the seat in addition to the side covers.

I buy most of my OEM parts from BikeBandit.com

I use to shop bike bandit, my last buy will be the last, they burned me too many times. misleading parts descriptions is a big issue. and customer service has fallen through the cracks these last 2 years. like 4 people work for their whole "customer service" department.

all I gotta say is use paypal if you decide to go through them.
