Gas tank issues

Recently bought a 1992 gs500e off of craigslist. Ive run into an issue where im only aboe to use about 3 gallons of fuel before having to switch to reserve. Is this normal?

Hi Traxi, welcome to the forum!

It should be closer to 4 gallons before reserve... are you sure you're filling the tank all the way up and then keeping track? IMO the tank can be a little bit deceiving. Ya think it's full but you might find you can get a bit more fuel in there!

Have you tried to calculate your mpg?
