After installing the fatter rear tire I want to raise the front end about 10mm or so. Certainly I can just loosen the triples and drop the fork tubes a bit.

I am a bit concerned that I will have to re-align everything afterward. Are there tricks or things I need to be extra attentive to?

If it were me, I'd adjust the tubes how I wanted and then follow the instructions in the manual about how to get everything lined up again.

But I'm thinking that it really shouldn't throw anything outta alignment if you're not removing the front wheel (everything should stay put because of the front axle bolt/nut etc...). Does that make sense? lol

Yeah makes sense to me! I figured fork brace plus front axle should keep it pretty square.
