GS500F Carb vent?

Greetings All. I just acquired a 2006 GS500F and I'm going over everything. I had a 93 GS500E a few years ago and many things look the same. I remember this in the pic as being a vent for the carbs, no? And shouldn't it have a hose that runs down under the bike?

Also, the air box looks a little different from my older GS. I don't remember these two openings. Should they have hoses as well?

Thanks for any replies.

Can't speak to the bottom two openings, but that first one is indeed the carb vent, and there should be a hose coming from it that goes up and over the airbox. Its the one labeled "Vent Hose from Upper Carb T-Connection" on this diagram:

Thanks, qcbaker. I thought so. That would explain the slight residue of gasoline around that area.

As for the other two openings, the lower port in your pic looks to be where the airbox drain hose is supposed to go, but I'm not sure what that other port would be...

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in and help as well.

As others mentioned, bottom port should drain to ground via a hose.

The other, I think, connects to PAIRS on a 2006. If your bike has PAIRS, it should probably be mounted forward left side on the frame under the gas tank, and connect to your engine exhaust in front.

Someone feel free to correct if I'm wrong; my pre-owned 2005 came liberated of its PAIRS module, so that other airbox port is capped.
