Are you inside or outside of the USA? United States did not get a naked GS500 after 2003, so if you are in USA that would mean you have a GS500F model that has had the fairings removed.

If you are in a country that got the naked GS500 I don't think it has a letter designation. Just GS500.

In any case, the only difference is the plastic fairings and possibly the handle bars (I think EU model Naked GS500 models may have kept clip-on style handlebars)

He's from Denmark in the EU, a lovely country with lovely people that speak Danish!

Naked UK/EU bikes from 2004 on are GS500K models with no oil cooler, faired models are GS500FK and have an oil cooler, which affects some gaskets if needed. Best to buy a manual to see all the differences. If your bike is 2007/8 it will be a K7/8 with frame number VTTBK211200100841 onwards for naked and an FK7/8 with frame number VTTBK232200101142 onwards for faired according to my Haynes manual.

Astonishingly the fork seals for naked E models are different from the faired F models although almost all advertisers don't recognise this - I checked with Suzuki GB technical so can absolutely confirm this. FK seals will leak badly on K models.

Other differences relate to fairing, headlights etc.

Happy trails, grunts  :)
