Does anyone know where I'd be able to find / order new gaskets for my carburetor? Looking for the lower float bowl gasket as it seems I'm getting some leakage from the sides of the carb where the bowl meets the upper portion of the carb. It seems that there are some on eBay but the shipping can take a long time to get to Canada (estimated delivery Is mid-May). This bike is my primary commuter vehicle, so the sooner the gaskets arrive the sooner I can get back on the road and avoid taxi fare and transit. Thanks kindly, and hope to hear from you guys soon!

Are you sure its leaking at the gasket ?
Also is the float set at the right height ? and not have a leaking O ring at the seat ?
Now I have had good luck putting that purple stuff - I think its called gasket maker - Not silicone - Its purple and pretty much goes on like paint - a small can with brush in the cap made by permatex - I use that and it sort of keeps the gasket material soft and it also swells a little with gas, making for it+gasket to seal up nice.

Cool.

I checked all of the fuel lines and they don't seem to be leaking. I noticed the "reserve" line which was resting against the side of the left carb was covered in gas. Was thinking that it leaked from the float bowl gasket down onto the fuel line and down the carb making it appear that the fuel line and carb vent was leaking, but was just the force of gravity with the fuel creeping its way down slowly. Only seemed to leak 5-10 drops of fuel over the course of the day after a short 30 minute ride and leaving it parked ever since. I will check the float heights over the weekend and and likely further inspect the o-rings and get back to you about that. I was thinking of using Permatex as opposed to searching for a compete gasket/o-ring kit for both carbs. That stuff does work well for sealing up potential fuel leaks around the carburetor float bowls/o-rings? How would I go about applying this stuff to the current gaskets from your own experience? Thanks Buddah!

That purple permatex is just painted on with that brush. Don't worry if it gets on the side inside or outside, try and wipe off as best as you can, but I have put that crap in a bowl, and left a fingerprint on it and 2+ yrs later opened up the bowl to find that fingerprint still intact. It is supposed to stay soft and I know that it takes up gas and swells a little and that helps the gasket stay soft. If you have an intact and not visibly cracked O ring, I'd definitely give the permatex a try. Don't try to remove the gasket. Just paint it over. You remove and rip the gasket, you're likely to not be able to get by without new.
Oh, order the thing while you have this holding it up. If you receive it and don't need it, well, hold onto it for later.
