*******SOLD*******

Hi all. Real life's been a bit of a pain recently so there's been a change of plans re me selling off my GS500 parts and, as you're about to see, there's a lot of them.

Basically everything in the next few posts in this thread as well as everything in the posts linked here http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=72841.0 is to go as one big job lot. Yes, that's right, that's at least five frames, three complete engines, god knows how many disassembled engines, more body parts, wheels, tyres, electrics, swingarms, and bolts that you can shake a stick at.

The essential info:
Where: Luton, near Jct 10 on the M1
When: whenever you like (within reason)... I often work from home so during the week's fine for me as long as I have plenty of notice.
Weight: Heavy. Seriously, you'll need a transit van to take it all away. I don't mind helping load it all but I'd really recommend bringing a friend as well.
How much: £1200.00 cash.

Most of it's in crates, a lot of it;s been wrapped in greasy bags, towels, etc to keep it fresh.

So, apart from everything in this linked thread http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=72841.0 there's everything shown below.

EDIT: That should be about everything now.

***********************
Two exhausts: one's seen better days and could do with sanding & spraying and the end welding back on (the end's still attached to the head shown below) but the other's in really good nick.
One head: oh look, that's where the end of the exhaust went.
There's also a balance shaft, con rods and some various other bits and bobs in there.

Neeeext:
Split crankcases and a big ol' box of bits. I didn't have time to properly sort the box-o-bits but some of it's pure gold and some of its pure crap. A bit like a trip to IKEA really.

TQM

What's that, you want more?

Front end: nice forks, caliper, master cyclinder, speedo and cable etc. I wrapped the forks in a towel as they were pretty nice and didn't want to twang them when I put them away. The rim's got a bit of a dent in it so not sure how far I'd trust it but there's others int his job lot so just throw it away of it looks suspect.

Complete engine: turned over by hand when I put it away and had good compression. It's been wrapped in towels and the intake/exhaust ports blocked up so should be good to go. Bugger's also leaked oil on the shelf so there's still some in there.

TQM

Still hungry?

Carbs n' stuff: Two carbs, one newer style, one older style. both with good action on the slides.  There's also carb boots, unopened slinky glide tach cable, various carb fittings, and that K&N box has a rather nice looking pair of piston heads with their associated con rods.

Airbox etc: Decent triple tree, rear axle and associated bits, full set of kyoto rear wheel bearings, and an unmolested airbox that doesn't seem to have any bits broken off it. Nice.

TQM

Will it ever end?

Gearbox internals: All the gears, some balancer shafts, camchains, other bits and bobs

Side covers: Some side covers, gear selector rods, starter motor, magnetic magneto rotor thingy that I can't remember the name off right now, other bits and bobs,

Clutches: Clutch baskets, springs, plates... sooo many clutches!!

Crankshafts: why have one when you can have two?

TQM

It's like the Ambassadors reception in here.

Clutch covers: Clutch covers of different colours, drive sprocket cover, start motor covers, that round plate that we all break, signal generator (I knew I had one in there somewhere)

Sumpy stuff: Sump plates, oil mesh pickups, various bits and bobs, camchain guides, camchain tensioners, jugs.

Head:
The camshafts etc for this are in one of the other boxes.

Frame: In pretty good shape with very little rust. I've got the V5 for this one, as well as the V5s for all the other in the other thread.

TQM

Now for the rare stuff.

Ta-daaa
: Black plastics, matching tank, and seat. All undamaged. Yep, an actual full set of black plastics with all the little tabs and lugs still intact. The tank's wrapped in a couple of towels inside two binbags. I might even have the keys for the fuel cap in there too.

Still more to come!

TQM

Now for what I've found in the loft.

There's a pair of front mudguards, one sanded and primed, the other left in original red. A set of clocks, a magneto cover with the magneto still in it, clock shroud and metal clock face surround, airbox, Full set of clocks in a shroud with a metal faceplate, brake light glass (well, plastic), and the bit that'll probable cause the most interest, a luggage rack in almost mint condition. .

And in the shed...

Engine: I was half way through a headswap on this one, which is why the jugs are more weathered than the head. Just needs finishing off.

Crankcase: for all your crankcase needs

Rear caliper: - recently refurbished by Glovers Motorcycles (look them up, they're based in Mansfield and are really good value)

Ignition barrel:
good quality, not a chinese knock off from ebay.

There's also a load of odd bits in the shed that can go as well like handle bars, many, many, many nuts and bolts, random electric bits, probably a kitchen sink too*.

*the sink's staying.

TQM

And behind the curtain...

or rather under a big tarp in the garden.

Parts bike:
This ran when the previous owner bought it to strip parts off of. I've had a couple of bits off it too but no real reason why it shouldn't get going again. I think it's an F-reg and I should have the V5 for it.

Even sadder parts bike
: M-reg (I have the V5) with most of its electrics still attached.

Seat: unripped and in fairly good nick. Just needs a good clean.

Tank: This still has its fuel tap. Only reason I stopped using it was because a: I swapped it out for a larger later-model tank on my runabout bike and b: it had faded paint and chips in the paint.

And I think that's about everything.

So there you go. Bring some cash and a transit van and you could head off home with a treasure trove of GS500 goodies. If you've the time (and unfortunately I don't at the moment) you could corner the ebay market for GS500 bits. Or you could just horde ll the good bits for yourself for when the inevitable post Brexit apocalypse hits the UK and the only thing still on the roads is you and your GS.
