This applies to both forum and wiki.

I have had problems logging onto the site but it seems to be when I am using my college wi-fi and always late morning/early afternoon. I also haven't experienced it for a couple of days

DNS problems. Fortunately cbrfx reached out to me so I could reach out to Manjul.

Here's the fix he gave me for my access (via my cell).

After I texted Manjul, he texted me this:

Your cellphone provider or internet provider is having DNS issues. There is a hacking thing with DNS poisoning going on. The 4.2.2.2 is one provider and 8.8 is Google and 1.1.1.1 is cloudflare

This worked for me.

Ditto from the UK - for about 10 days at least - I'de almost stopped checking the site daily as I normally do, if it keeps happening then sorry squire, I'm outta here, can't be faffed with that bollards. whatever it is you're doing then stop it, NOW, PLEASE, go back to where you were, it wasn't broken so don't effing well fix it, OK?

pandy

I have no idea what you just said, but it sounds as though it was the providers having the problems, including mine. No one changed anything on GSTwin. What I posted was Manjul's work-around to get me and others back in here. It worked for me. I hope It works for others having problems..

I won't bother telling you what you can do.  :flipoff:

I work in IT. The problem was with CloudFlare's DNS servers. Lots of sites were having issues.

Is anyone else still having issues? I'm only able to access from work as my home and mobile internet still won't connect to the site.

I am still having problems as well. I can't access on data, or with my university wifi. Home wifi is great though

There are still DNS issues around.  When I run into the issue, I change my DNS setting from auto to Google's DNS addresses (8.8.8.8  and 8.8.4.4).  Google's DNS doesn't seem to be having the issue.  Steps to change the setting are easy to find in a google search, but if anyone needs help I'll gladly post some steps.  BTW, this is in the U.S.  I'm not certain if this will help anyone outside the U.S.

Would be cool if I could do that on mobile, as I only have the issue when using 3g/4g and not on WiFi.

If you are on android 9.0 or later, you can.  I haven't tried it myself, but go to your network settings and look for "Private DNS Provider hostname".  Add dns.google as the hostname of the provider.

Here's a link to a guide from Google on how to accomplish this on multiple types of devices if anyone needs it.

Changed my DNS from auto to use Google's ones and it's fixed everything!

Hopefully the name server issue will be sorted as I can imagine it's caused a loss of members too.
