Master link chain tolerance

Anyone got any idea what the acceptable tolerance is for width difference between the master link and other links? My DID rivet master link with the plate pressed on is .5mm wider than the other links and the DID tool won't let me press it any further. Should I try to push it further with vice/mole grips to get it closer? All the vids I see have like .2mm difference max.
