Did i push the collar too much?

I was adjusting the rear shock and probably I reached 7 and pushed further, it made a loud noise, and went back to 1, did i break anything? is it possible that it went back to 1?

That may very well be the case. I'm not sure if the stock GS shock works exactly like the R6 shock pictured below, but if it is the same, then yes, it will go back to position 1 if you keep on turning .
