After a long absence (as I pointed out in another thread)... I'm back :) and glad to be so. Unfortunately, the illness and death of a parent along with a few other challenges impacted my priorities and leisure time for a while, but I hope to be able to contribute to the forum again.

Just thought I would post a few pics of builds that I think I completed since "going dark."  lol

A KZ900 inspired build... really not much more than paint, some exhaust work and a custom cockpit (actually that was the fun part). Please forgive the obnoxious "danger" sticker on that one.  The keyed ignition was removed and replaced by a hidden on/off kill switch, so I regularly used a disc lock for extra security (well... any security).  The day after I tried to ride away with the disc lock on, I added the sticker, to avoid a repeat   :hithead:

And a scrambler that couldn't make up its mind if it wanted to be a scrambler or a cafe racer.

Glad to be back.

And just for yucks... my current commuter.  Rescued from a barn with about 6000 miles on it (no side panels or windscreen when I got it) and it was black / grey.  It's about 90% done and just needs a nip here and a tuck there.

man....I'm moving in next door!
You can poke your head into my garage and just raise an eyebrow so I know when I'm messing up.

You know, the funny thing is that for a split second I actually thought you meant you were (literally) moving in next door to me... as in maybe you had seen the bike outside and recognized it... because the house two down the street from mine is up for sale.  Then I realized how you actually meant it....  Damn, no new GS guy in the neighborhood.   :dunno_black:

That would have been an amazing coincidence! But unfortunately for me I'm not. Fortunately for you...I won't be harassing you for information, drinking your beer and borrowing tools.

Bluesmudge

I can appreciate a man who likes both the E and F models. The GS is such a versatile platform. That is very evident from all your builds.

I think you're my next door neighbor.

That's alright, one day you will call in that favour with your neighbour and you will know what's what.

Naaa, I steal his shaZam! too. Drinking his vodka/Tequila and all other nonsense. I get as good as I give.
My first neighbor in that house 2003-2008 was a Harley guy, he crashed 1 and crashed the next one, and so on. We picked up his bike off a ditch and whatnot. All fun times.
Then for a period it was owned by a 968 yr old woman who died. Then the next ones were a construction company, I had em build all sorts of nice shaZam! for me. The dad, kids everyone was a riot, smoking weed and throwing parties.
Then a couple a yrs some single mom had it, then was a west Indian dude from Barbuda who was great helped me a lot, helped me move even, then 3 yrs an army guy who I barely ever saw cos I was in my other house 100 miles away and the plandemic was hitting hard. Then this guy, who is cool. I get as good as I give. I give him beer and steal his vodka. We're even. My neighbor across the street for 20+ yrs - same thing. Give them some good shaZam!, steal their good shaZam!. What else is life about.
Cool.

So just the regular neighbour situation. My closest neighbour is probably about a half mile away... perfect!
