Hello everyone, I'm new to this website, this will be my first post, hopefully someone can help me. I just bought a 2007 Gs500F and it needs a little tlc. There is a hole in the ignition cover/ crank case cover, breaker cover? Not sure what it's called, typically the hole is covered by the emblem/ logo, but thats missing, I intend to replace the metal cover at some point because it is badly scratched, but I can't afford it right now and I don't want to spend $30 on a oem emblem just to have to take it off/ replace it when I end up replacing the metal cover later down the line, but I need to cover that hole with something until then. Can anyone tell me the size of the original emblem or have anything else I could use to temporarily cover the hole? Maybe a cheap "emblem" that is only silver or something, etc. Just something to get me by in the mean time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

The photo attatched is the part I am talking about that I need to cover the hole for.

someone on this forum was selling replacement parts for this.

All you have to is keep dust and moisture out of that hole. The $30 part is just a really nice metal sticker.  Any piece of strong tape or a sticker would work until you replace both parts.

Till you get a billet one (made by chuck1981 I think) you can glue a tomato sauce can top (or bottom) after cleaning all the tomato out of it. You'd want the large 4" diameter can, not the little coke can sized one. Matter of fact if you were really paranoid the glue will come off with the heat, you can remove that cover and pop rivet it on in 3 spots.
Cool.
