Hi!
I am wondering if anyone has come across winter tires for GS500.
I don't mean riding on snow, but rather something which can provide more grip in wet conditions at slightly above 0c.

So far I found only these options:
Anlas Winter Grip Plus - they have a compatible front tire, but not the rear tire.
Also Kenda K701 - But I don't think it's compatible since it's a scooter tire and it has a different speed index.

Any of the modern high silica compound tires should do well in cold weather. I run the Michelin Road 5 which is marketed as having great cold weather and wet weather grip. So far I have found that to be true, I've had no issues riding in 35 degrees Fahrenheit/pouring rain. I looked into the Anlas tires but couldn't find a US distributor. AFAIK the Anlas are the only ones with the snowflake symbol to show they have passed a snow traction test.

Thanks for the advice. Do you use Michelin Road 5 on GS500 though? I couldn't find compatible tire size among Road 5 variants. https://www.michelinman.com/motorcycle/tires/michelin-road-5

I installed a set of Michelin Pilot Street 2 last December. So far I'm very happy with them.
They are available in the correct sizes  110/70  130/70.  Primarily marketed toward scooters, but the GS500 fits within their spec for any conservative/casual rider.
Part of the reason I chose these was a hunch it'd be easier to get some heat into them. The price is also very good value imo.

Yes, I have ~15,000 miles on a set of Road 5s on my GS500. Still lots of life left in the tires. You may have to buy the Road 6 now. For some reason Michelin doesn't list all the sizes on their website but you can order them from Revzilla or any other distributor. I run 110/70/17 and 140/70/17. It's pretty common to run a 140 on the GS for more tire size options.
