Help, quick question RE front brake lever / piston

Hello folks, I hope somebody can help me, I broke my brake lever and replaced it with an aftermarket one. Now bleeding is a bit harder. Im wondering if the lever is keeping the piston in the master cylinder to "deep" and not letting it "come out" enough when the lever is released.

Can anyone compare this photo to your bike and with original brake lever and let mem know if it looks the same?

PS its an early 2000 model but I think and 90s / 2000s bike should be the same.
