Is there any other options than the Katana or old style GSXR?  I am having trouble finding one for a reasonable price.  I refuse to pay $50 for a used shock, and they usually sell for more than that even!  When I was looking on katanaplanet I noticed some of those guys have installed new style ('96-)GSXR600 shocks.  These shocks are readily available and cheap.  Does this mean that one will fit the GS?  I can't look at my bike right now and was wondering if there is room for the reservior.  Also curious about the length, if the Kat is 1" longer than stock and the GSXR is 1" than that then is that too long?  Anyways sorry the rambling, thanks for any info.

I am selling my 2000 Katana shock for $30 plus shipping. It is the same one pictured on my mod page. Let me know soon because I will be posting it in the For Sale topic, tommorow.

hey John, on your page it says that the shock fits 96+ GS500's

shouldn't it fit on my '92?

John,

Wow, thanks I'll take it!  Let me know about shipping to 97402 and I will get a money order out to you.  This is awesome, I just didn't want to pay somewhere between $50 and $75 for a ten year old shock that probably doesn't even have any nitrogen pressure left in it.  Thanks again.

Brent

Email me and we can work out the details.

going fast isnt the problem, its the crashing and burning that hurts

Yes you can rebuild most modern shocks.  Then I am into the thing for $75 plus $15 shipping plus another $100-$200 or whatever to have it gone through.  All of a sudden I have $300 worth of suspension when I only paid $300 for the entire bike.  Thankfully there is this site with many cool people on it though.

More questions....

I have an 84 Honda VF1000F with an Ohlin's remote adjustable rear shock that appears as if it would mount up to my GS.
Any reason this wouldn't work???
