Got mine in on saturday and the bike is soooo much better. The ride was firm and comfortable, that cheap feeling coming up through the forks is gone forever. I used to think stuff like rebound was a total crock but now i am converted. I hail gstwin with my busted knuckels!!!!!
I highly reccomend this upgrade.

I was also a skeptic until I put on my Katana shock.  I highly recommend the shock along with the fork springs  :thumb:

Go for the trifecta, new tires too!

I really like how the bike is after changing the suspension.  My front forks might be a little too stiff, but I think they have broken in a little over time :)  Much more confidence going through turns!

Best $100 or so you can spend on your GS  :thumb:

i am about to do excately what you did to my '92 gs. i got the progressive springs in the mail yesterday. now i need to get a shock. i dont want to do any modification i.e. gringing, cutting, rigging, to my gs either. did your shock bolt right in? what year/type bike do i need to get a shock from to do the swap with no mods? i'm pretty apprehensive about buying a shock that i potentially will not use.

i got some time to find a shock that is just right. right now i dont even have my bike. it has been at the shop for the past 2 and a half weeks. i'm freakin out man, i need to ride!!! it will be sweet when i get her back. i cant wait. they are doing a ton of stuff to it so i guess i understand.  :(  thanks people!
my GS is driven like it's stolen.

i scored a 2002 katana 600 shock off ebay. Direct bolt in with no real difficulty other than breaking torque on the bolts.  > breaker bar.
