The springs squeak. there's also a tick while sitting on the bike pushing them through their range of movement. They move smoothly though. Has anyone else experienced this? :dunno:

Other than that they are great. Much less sag while braking, plus the ride is smoother. I even tried some dreaded speed bumps which bottomed the forks before. They're no big deal at all now. I almost jumped one. I do believe this GS could do (small) jumps safely now. :thumb:

I've never heard any squeeks from my forks.  Its not a rubber sounding squeak of something like the fork seals?  Everything is tight right?  The correct level of fork oil?  There's not much on the inside of our forks I can't imagine what would still squeak when immersed in oil.

Regarding the tick... maybe something hasn't seated correctly like those washers at either end of the spring. :dunno:

The squeak is definately metallic, sounds like it's just the springs themselves. The tick/clank sounded like maybe it was the left fork so I pulled the cap and checked it. Seems OK. :dunno: It may be something that needs to seat since the movement is smooth. It's more of a clank I guess, it's metallic also.

I cut PVC spacers 3/4 inch. Propped up the front end. compressed it and dropped the oil level to 140mm like the instructions said. Everything was by the book. :dunno:

It does ride nice. :)

From Chaparral, $46. I don't remember the part number. Call 'em, or search the site here. I believe it was Kerry that listed the part#.
