Footpegs?

Hiyas,

Recently, while looking at scratch's and my bike side by side, I noticed something was off about the footpegs.  First, I'm missing the left rear.  Second, I think I have rear footpegs on my front.

Can someone give me a closeup photo of the front footpegs vs rear footpegs?  So I can compare rubber sets, the whole angle (on the flat, or on the edge) - so I can determine if I should buy just the left rear, or a new set of front footpegs?

a quick way to tell if ur rear pegs are in the front is to take the peg off. if the metal partt that connects to the bike is hollow, its meant for the passenger. If its solid it is correct for the driver's peg. It might not be wise to use the passenger pegs in the front, even if they are lighter. Just imagine how screwed you'd be if they snapped off :o

Oops - I saw this thread last (after dark) and forgot about it this morning.

Here are some photos I just took out in the parking lot:

From the rear

From the side

From the side - folded

Hope this helps!

Hmm, bikebandit doesn't appear to offer the front foot peg bolt and c-clip (4 and 5 on the diagram), only the rear - are the two interchangeable?

Can someone tell me what this is all about?  :?

LSL footpegs for GS? You need to select Suzuki and GS500E at the top...

But there is no rearset for sale... do these just swap out?

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

are the big rubber footpegs on the GS slippery when it rains?

I have the OBERON footpegs on my 05 F front and rear. They came complete with hardware which was mostly useless . As I thought that the E and F were the same footpegs but NOOOOOOOOOO ! I snaged some other nuts and bolts at the HOME DEPOT and the MOUNT BLOCKS for the rear had to be machined/filed from 15 mm to 12 mm wide. No trouble for me really as I like to wrench and I have the big book of FRENCH swear words. My cost to CANADA was $ 130.00 . A bit pricey but they are bitchin.

ive really been wondering this question myself. I know people race these bikes so whats the big deal with no aftermarket peg production. I created a set out of stainless steal but it was not worth my time and the fact that they are heavier than I really want. cool but heavy.

Woodcraft also makes a set for the GS.

I decided to take my chances on a set  of front pegs for the gsxr600 from a local shop. all I had to do is grind down a lip on the little bracket then slightly bend the holder on the gs in a little to make it a little more snugg then voila Ive got a set of aftermarket pegs. I can do the same for the rear as well after I weld a bottom plate to the holder.

The stockers are bulky and just sad looking.  Any other solutions for the front?   I have a 99 500E if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

On a more serious note, have you read through the wiki article already? It has good options. http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Upgrades.Pegs

I totally missed that in my search.  I had found a similar article but the Wiki entry has better options.  Thanks for the link.
